Have you scrolled down your social media or flipped through a magazine only to find a young lady (or man) with absolutely perfect eyebrows. Well, I sure have. If you’re like me, the first thought that comes to mind is ” I wish I had beautiful eyebrows like that”. Fret not! There are ways that you can achieve perfectly arched eyebrows with a natural finish! Below I am going to provide you with 7 easy steps to get perfect eyebrows.
Clean them up! I can’t tell you how often a client sits in my makeup chair and shows me a picture of how they want their eyebrows to look, but theirs have not been maintained. Whether your method is threading, tweezing, waxing, or plucking your eyebrows, the key to a perfect brow is a clean brow. If you’re between appointments, try using a concealer like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to carve out the brow and make them appear cleaner!
Use a Quality Brow Product! If you’re anything like me, then you love a good bargain. However, this may not be the best course of action when it comes to good eyebrows. You don’t have to spend a ton of money, however, the quality of the product needs to be good enough to last the entire time you plan on wearing your makeup. The best eyebrow stencil, powder, pencil, and tinting products are subjective, but I’ve included a few of my personal favorites.
Keep those Suckers in Place! What good is a perfect eyebrow if they move around after you’ve perfected them? It’s not necessary for those of you with cooperative brow hairs, however for the rest of the human population it is a good idea to use eyebrow gel or eyebrow wax to keep your brows in place. Additionally, using eyebrow gel or wax will help to separate the hairs and give you a more natural look.

Shape them to Your Face! When choosing a brow shape, choose one that complements your face shape. Very thick eyebrows may not be as flattering on a very slim face. Likewise, a wide face shape may not be best for the pencil brow (see below). With that being said shape and thickness is subjective and totally up to you!
Choose a Flattering Shade! If you’re the kind of person that doesn’t give a flip about what societal standards are then skip right over this section. As for the rest of us, it is important to choose an eyebrow shade that is flattering to the skin tone and your current brow hairs. For example, I wouldn’t attempt to use a blond brow powder when your hairs are black. As far as what’s flattering or not, lighter hair colors should stick to 1-2 shades darker while darker hair colors should go 1-2 shades lighter…GENERALLY.
Use Growth Serum! If you’re one of those people who have not been able to grow thick luscious eyebrows, it may be worth it to look into a growth serum. Should you choose this route, exercise extreme caution as some products can irritate your skin.
Maintain Your Eyebrows! Following all of these steps will do you absolutely no good if you don’t maintain your brows on a relatively regular basis. Find a way to fit it into your budget and stick with it. This does not mean threading or waxing on a weekly basis as that could lead to thinning. But be sure to be attentive to your brow stubble. Unkempt stubble can make or break perfect eyebrows.
